BCIT School of Business is partnering up with the Okanagan Peer Mentoring Groups, PDJ & Associates, and the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce in bringing these classes right to you, each month! We'll be holding a one day workshop on December 5th in the Kelowna Chamber Boardroom  These classes are geared towards a supervisory level participant and make this extended training more feasible for companies in Kelowna, as it eliminates the need to travel for training. These are courses not being offered in the Okanagan, and a great way to engage your employees and your organization! 
 
 Leadership - Leading Organizations
 1 Day Workshop Workshop Description:
 Leadership 3 (Leading Organizations)
The purpose of this workshop is to assist participants in the development of organizational leadership competencies and to continue to develop the interpersonal competencies associated with leadership effectiveness.Through a combination of group interactions, role playing, lectures and experiential activities, participants will have an opportunity to enhance an array of competencies including meeting management, change leadership, engagement strategies including empowerment, delegation and coaching. 
The participant will be able to:
1. Describe select models of change
2. Identify reasons for staff resistance and other barriers to organizational change
3. Identify strategies for facilitating and supporting organizational change
4. Explain what is meant by "engagement" and various strategies to encourage engagement including empowerment, delegation and coaching
5. Describe a model for conducting a coaching conversation
6. Identify tools and techniques to structure and lead an effective meeting.
