Event Description:

The scope of Canada’s Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program has affected nearly every taxpayer that performs SR&ED across the country. Our breakfast session will provide an opportunity to discuss how these audit practices are affecting SR&ED performers.
 
Jacqueline Gustafson, Director of KPMG’s Western Region SR&ED practice, Jacqueline Fehr, Associate at KPMG Law, and Judith Charbonneau Kaplan, Associate at KPMG Law, will present on a range of topics including:
 
    • Recent experiences with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) SR&ED audits
    • Current expectations on CRA review and eligibility assessments 
    • The options available when a taxpayer disagrees with the CRA on eligibility 
    • Recent court cases demonstrating SR&ED eligibility and documentation.
 
If you are beginning your SR&ED preparation, this will be a timely and relevant update on significant changes that have occurred affecting the preparation process.
