Event Description: Opera Kelowna celebrates its Third Annual Fashion Fundraiser on Friday, May 29th in support of our International Summer Opera Program in partnership with The University of British Columbia and our professional mainstage performance of Le Nozze Di Figaro. This year we look to the past; to the days of le Chateaux de Versailles and the illustrious Queen Marie Antoinette, a style icon in her own right. We will borrow from her avant-garde ideals and lavish tastes. Sold out last year, this year’s show, ‘A Royal Affair,’ will feature stylist Jade Wolf and a runway event full of one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces from local artisans and boutiques. With inspirations from lavish royalty and a surprise attack of the rocker-revolutionist, we emerge with our own history-making collection of the haute-couture showcasing custom-made jewel-encrusted crowns and royal pearl-embellishments. This intimate event will be held on the rooftop of the Hotel Eldorado as the footmen of Her Highness greet you at the entrance of ‘The Arms’ and escort you up to the festivities. Whether you arrive by land, boat or air this beautiful rooftop concert, fashion show and after party is an event not to be missed.
