Event Description: This community outreach and networking event focusses on “The Imposter Syndrome”. What is it? This is a real syndrome – a real psychological phenomenon where successful individuals remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve the success they have achieved. Proof of success is dismissed as luck or timing. Individuals are simply unable to internalize THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS. Wow, that can really hinder progress as well as personal and professional fulfillment. This is the inagural event of iSTAND (integrative STEM Team Advancing Networks of Diversity) from the School of Health and Exercise Sciences. The focus of this initiative is to recruit and retain women in STEM (Science, technology, engineering and math fields). This will be undertaken through youth activities and community education and networking events. Includes lunch and snack sessions.
