Event Description: In this workshop participants will learn to identify their own style of communicating (verbally), and to identify and adapt their message to be better understood by their colleagues, co-workers and clients. The aim is to reduce workplace conflict through better communication, improve ‘EQ’, and ultimately develop a more productive workplace. This session is designed in a workshop format, and audience participation will be encouraged. Come to the session to “talk about it” ... and leave with and increased ability to influence your workplace and those around you. You Will Learn: - Understand how others view your behavior to become more influential - Be better equipped to manage/reduce conflict at work . - Understand why you find some relationships more productive than others. - Develop insight about your behavioral strengths and behavioral weaknesses i.e. improve your EQ - Make reliable assessments about others' behavior. - Develop a more effective way of communicating - Build on your strengths and the strengths of others to develop productive relationships and more effective workplaces. Presenter: John Whitehead MA, ACC, CEC, is an experienced leader, facilitator and certified coach with over 40 years of senior leadership and management experience. At 18, John became the youngest store manager Kinney Shoes of Canada had appointed. Over the years John has experienced various sales management experiences from retail to direct sales, selling both tangible and intangibles. John has held senior operational positions with national organizations achieving significant recognition for his results.. In 2012 he graduated from Royal Roads University, Victoria, BC with an MA in Leadership. John describes himself as a continuous learner, motivated to learn more so that he can better help others achieve their goals. Since 2012 John has become a Certified Executive Coach (CEC), a certified coach with the world’s number #1 executive coach, Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, a certified instructor in Tracom’s SOCIAL STYLE® and Versatility process, and a level one facilitator with The Leadership Challenge® and LPI™ Certified Coach. Also, to recognize others preferred “style” of communication to prevent misunderstanding and conflict.
