Event Description:

Hosted by the Fresh Outlook Foundation (FOF), a Breakfast of Champions (BoC) gathers business people to celebrate their social, cultural, environmental, and/or economic successes. Each event has a specific theme and is hosted by a related organization. An event focused on energy efficiency, for example, was held at a car dealership that had reduced energy use by replacing its lot lights with LED alternatives. BoC events have been highly successful at educating event goers about the topic at hand and showcasing local sustainability successes.

FOF partnered with PDJ & Associates/Okanagan Peer Mentoring Groups and UBC Okanagan to host the next BoC. It will feature a renowned keynote speaker and showcase local success stories about the benefits of businesses collaborating with individuals/organizations from government, academia, and the nonprofit sector. We’re excited about our next BoC:

Building Profitability: 5 Steps to Collaborative Growth

In his keynote presentation at the next Breakfast of Champions March 2nd at UBC Okanagan, Mark Jennings-Bates (VP Sales for PAL-V Flying Car and a serial entrepreneur) will demonstrate how to grow and prosper through B2B collaboration and partnerships with organizations from other sectors. You’ll learn how to:

1. Get out of the way (Harness your ego for greater profits)

2. Seek first to understand (Discover the art of reverse networking)

3. Take an honest inventory (Pinpoint and own your strengths and weaknesses)

4. Create a culture of collaboration (Turn up the heat on the human element)

5. Detect roadblocks early (Define desired outcomes and don’t get derailed)

Mark has collaborated successfully in both the business world and his record-breaking adventures. Together with business partner Andre Voskuil, he runs a small global conglomerate focused on green technology, innovative technology, and digital content marketing.

The overall theme of the event is Driving Business Through Collaboration, and will feature success stories from a variety of sectors and industries. Register for the breakfast from 7-9am ($30), the workshop from 9am-noon ($129), or both for $149.
