Event Description: Identify local bee species and learn to use science tools that will help track them! With bumble bees, honey bees and other important pollinators facing population decline, there is a growing need for data that will help scientists determine the density and diversity of pollinators across different environments. Insight makes it easy to participate in this essential research and learn about the different types of pollinators. The Insight citizen science app was designed by Geoffrey Campbell for his Bachelor of Design thesis project at Emily Carr University of Art + Design. Come out and learn how to identify local Bee species and how to use this fascinating new tool to become a Citizen Scientist and contribute to data collection that will help us understand our pollinators and what they are facing in our own communities. This is a free event, but please register!
