Event Description:

Canadian Oil Sands - Canada's Energy Advantage

Join Don Thompson, Executive Advisor, Sustainability and Oil Sands Outreach, Canadian Oil Sands Limited, as he addresses how Okanagan service and goods producers can do business with oil sands companies.
The oil sands are a Canadian treasure. As we move forward developing this resource, we must continue to work to achieve the balance between economic contribution, environmental sustainability and energy security. According to the Canadian Energy Research Institute, by 2035, 905,000 jobs will come to be linked to the oil sands as a result of its ongoing development. The oil sands will make this significant contribution by creating supply chain and employment opportunities across the continent in addition to direct employment within the industry.
