1-800-GOT-JUNK? is holding a free electronic recycling event in recognition of International Earth Day. The following items will be accepted for free recycling:
• Televisions (CRT, Plasma and LED)
• Computer Monitors (CRT and LCD)
• Computer towers, laptops, netbooks
• Tablet computers
• Printers
• Video game systems
• Keyboards, mice, cables
• Small kitchen appliances (mixers, coffee makers, microwave ovens, coffee grinders, electric grills, etc.)
On-site shredding of confidential documents will also be available, provided by Okanagan Paper Shredding ($5/banker box)
BACKGROUND: 2012 marks the 5th annual 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Free Electronic Waste Event in recognition of Earth Day. Last year’s event was so successful, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has planned another opportunity to encourage Okanagan residents and businesses to live greener lives. This year’s partners include Organizing Help and Okanagan Paper Shredding.
