Event Description: Passionately traditional & modern, "Puertas" is a doorway to a new artistic expression in the world of Flamenco. The Rotary Centre for the Arts kicks off the fall presentation season with an explosive and passionately creative new work called PUERTAS. The story is centered on 4 doors, portals to distinct cultures: Indian, Jewish, Arabic and Latin. Enhanced by unique elements such as world instruments, video projection, digital technology and the entrancing sounds of Flamenco guitar, the dancers and musicians tell a story of each culture in a beautiful artistic dialogue. Based in Seville Spain and strongly rooted in the tradition of flamenco, Canadian-born Flamenco dancer Fiona Malena (www.fionamalena.com) and the ensemble blend world-music, rhythms and unique and captivating instruments such as Hang Drum, Sitar, Arabic Flute and Oude among others. www.selectyourtickets.com $25 advance/ $30 Door
