Event Description: The Centre for Heart, Lung and Vascular Health at UBC Okanagan's Faculty of Health and Social Development invites you to an evening with Professor Daniel Green. Professor Green will consider 400 years of medical science and patterns emerging from Nobel Prize-winning studies to address the questions: Where do paradigm shifting ideas come from and where should we look next? Professor Green is a Winthrop Professor of Cardiovascular Physiology at the School of Sports Science, Exercise and Health at the University of Western Australia. He is currently a UBC Invited International Distinguished Visitor with the Faculty of Health and Social Development at UBC Okanagan. His research encompasses the lifespan, looking at the best combinations of exercise, pharmacological and other preventative measures to minimize future development of cardiovascular disease. A dedicated researcher with over 200 peer-reviewed publications, he is an engaging speaker who will draw you into the world of medical science and the pursuit of health before and after illness. Professor Green's talk is made possible through the support of UBC Okanagan's Invited International Distinguished Visitor Fund and the Faculty of Health and Social Development.
