Diversity is more than a human rights or an inclusion issue. It's a profitable business strategy.
Diversity improves the bottom line of a business. It's a strategy that businesses and corporations use to:
- reflect the increasingly international make-up of their local communities and their customer base;
- enhance their employee recruitment, retention and satisfaction;
- reduce costs in their supply chain, plus access new contracts and create new employment as a diverse supplier; and
- improve decision-making at all levels in business.
Women's Enterprise Centre, in partnership with the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce and KPMG are pleased to present this FREE interactive workshop, Businesses of Tomorrow: Profiting from Diversity for business owners and their teams.
There are four areas where you can use a diversity strategy to grow your business. We'll uncover myths, explore unconscious biases—and share some great examples and best practices. At the completion of the workshop you'll have some tools and action steps to strengthen your business diversity.
Through this workshop, participants will benefit from improved understanding of:
- What diversity really means and why it matters in business;
- The four key areas where diversity impacts personal and business results;
- Challenges, opportunities and best practices for diversity in the four key areas of business operations;
- How to recognize and deal with stereotypes, myths, language, terminology and biases; and
- What the diversity profit chain looks like and how to implement it in your business.
There is NO CHARGE for this workshop, through the generous support of the BC Welcoming Communities Program and Kelowna Community Resources.
