Bruce has sat on several CGA-BC and CGA Canada committees and advisory groups since 1988, including Chair of CGA-BC Association in 2011. Bruce has been re-appointed by the Province of BC to the Auditor Certification Board. In 2005, Bruce received the Harold Clarke Award for outstanding service to the community, the CGA Association and to the profession. In 2011, he received a Fellowship designation from CGA Canada and was named Outstanding Alumni by Langara College.
