Event Description: BOOM is an explosive new show about the music, culture & politics that shaped the Baby Boom generation BOOM captures and recreates the political, cultural and personal defining moments of the baby boom era (1945-69), featuring Rick Miller in a part performance, part impersonation, part documentary play with full multi-media. Rick Miller is an award-winning actor, comedian and playwright and the host of ABC’s hit primetime series “Just for Laughs”, who gives voice to over a 100 influential politicians, activists and musicians in this mind-blowing experience for all generations. The set is a huge cylinder inside what looks like a gigantic record and it becomes the time capsule from which Miller delivers this amazing history lesson, part of a larger transmedia project that aims to bring history to the next generation of Canadians. Through cutting-edge multimedia, unforgettable characters and tour-de-force storytelling, you experience the global events as they unfold: the Cold War, McCarthyism, Beatlemania, Trudeaumania, JFK, MLK, Mao, Vietnam… The various stories spiral into the “The Summer of Love”, and BOOM ends as it began: with a new generation born into a new world order.
